STANDARD RESIDENTIAL RAIL: The term standard residential
railing is a little ambiguous; the rail is usually 24”
or 36” tall sections with a variety of available posts.
It is made from either ½” picket or ¾” depending on use.
The railing is not made to be used on anything more than
a couple steps off the ground and is primarily used for
mobile home porches and steps. The overall cost of
residential rail is about a third of the cost of
standard commercial rail. At Affordable Aluminum we will
cut the railing to whatever length you would like (12’
max) and the pickets are on a pivoting top/bottom
channel so you do not need to know the pitch of the
stairs for a “one size fits all” approach. Please keep
in mind that this rail is not meant to be weight
