ACCORDION SHUTTERS
Accordion shutters are the most popular of all manufactured storm protection, they remain on the house year round and can be deployed by one person within minuets, and many people use them for security and energy savings. They come in several different colors to blend into your home and even have decorative foam trim available to completely hide your shutters. They also have an available “window” in the blade to let light in even when the shutter is locked into position for a storm. They have a stack size of one inch per foot of opening when in the open position. Our “Elite” accordion shutter also offers an offset screw boss, meaning that the screw assembly is
isolated from the hinge therefore reducing the corrosion effect in the mechanical portion of the shutter due to dissimilar metal contact therefore dramatically increasing the overall life of the shutter. At Affordable Aluminum we manufacture two distinct styles of accordion shutters, the “Elite” brand and the “bulldog” brand. Please refer to the measuring and ordering page to determine which shutter best suits your individual needs. We recommend that at least one of your openings be an egress style shutter so you can get out of your home in case of emergency, an accordion shutter is the most popular of egress style shutters.
