CLEAR STORM PANELS
Clear storm panels are made prom a polycarbonate material that allow light into the structure, eliminating the “living in a cave” feeling. The clear panels can be used in the same manner as aluminum/steel panels and can even be substituted for any aluminum panel in the structure (certain restrictions apply with fasteners). The most common use for clear panels is one or two in each opening of the house or areas of the house where light is critical, i.e. bathroom and kitchen. There are two ways for storm panels to be mounted, vertically or horizontally and both offer the same level of protection. Typical horizontal mount is trackless so therefore costs less and looks better, but it is more difficult to deploy in the event of a storm and can take two people. Vertically mounted storm panels usually have a top and bottom track which remain on the house year round, they are much easier to deploy and can usually be done with one person without a ladder.
