GLASS WINDOWS:
  Glass windows can be one of the mobile home windows we make here in our shop or can be any one of the residential window lines we carry. When building a room to take glass windows the uprights and wall structure will need to be heavy duty to carry the added weight, in addition the roof and kick panel should be insulated. Of course there are the different grades of Florida rooms that can be built and the Florida Building Code changes dramatically between them, a good rule of thumb if there is air-conditioned space; it is part of the house. Any glass window next to a door must be tempered. If you decide that one of the residential windows from either PGT or Simonton is the better choice for your needs, keep in mind that the depth of the window is usually greater than the aluminum extrusion it is resting on. The PGT 300 series window is a perfect fit for most new rooms; they are not available in custom sizes so it is difficult to fit commodity windows into an existing room.
